A new building project with a complex brief to include a fully integrated complex of 5 district courts, 8 magistrates courts, chamber facilities, a secure 4 tier circulation system and an integrated watch-house and police station.
ABM Architects sought to utilise clear legible functional planning and a sensitivity to the competing demands of circulation, security, natural day lighting and views from all significant and work spaces. The planning was incorporated on a tight inner-city site, resulting in a successful design that was described by the client as ‘intuitive in the way that the building supports the operations and vision of the Justice Department’.
